Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Menjelang akhir tahun, ajang penghargaan buat industri esports, Esports Awards 2023, baru saja digelar pada akhir pekan lalu.

Digelar di Resorts World, Las Vegas, Amerika Serikat, Esports Awards 2023 memberikan penghargaan buat mereka yang dianggap berpresetasi di skena olahraga elektronik tahun ini.

Beberapa game populer di Indonesia pun mendapatkan penghargaan, yaitu Valorant yang jadi gim esports terbaik tahun ini, serta Mobile Legends: Bang Bang yang jadi game esports mobile terbaik.

Selain sukses berkat Valorant, Riot Games juga meraih Esports Publisher of the Year, sementara Lee Sang-hyeok alias Faker, dinobatkan sebagai Esports PC Player of the Year.

“Dalam semangat inovasi dan kemajuan, Esports Awards 2023 sekali lagi mendefinisikan ulang apa artinya menghormati keunggulan dalam dunia gaming,” kata Michael Ashford, CEO Esports Awards.

“Kami bangga dapat menyediakan platform untuk meningkatkan industri esports dan seterusnya, dan kami merasa terhormat karena dapat memberikan pengakuan dan penghargaan kepada mereka yang telah memberikan kontribusi besar terhadap industri ini.”

Esports Awards sendiri pertama kali didirikan di 2015, sebagai ajang penghargaan global yang bertujuan sebagai pengakuan untuk dunia esports.

Esports Awards 2021 berhasil memecahkan rekor 20 juta penonton di seluruh kampanye, dan 10 juta suara dihitung. Tahun ini, Esports Awards kembali ke Resorts World Las Vegas untuk kedua kalinya.
